Watch out, I'm going political.

Why I'm voting MCCAIN.

(Or at least most certainly not Obama.)

Abortion.

I am basing my entire vote on one issue. That may seem ignorant to some people, but quite frankly politics don't interest me THAT much to follow up on exactly which candidate is for what on every topic, so on and so forth. However I believe that if there is one issue a person is truly passionate about they should follow through in voting for the candidate that best represents their views, because I think that voicing your opinion on at least one issue is better and far less ignorant than doing nothing at all, and then complaining about the way the government is handling the issues you're passionate about later on.

Anywho, back to my post.

I am absolutely 110% PRO-LIFE. I think abortion is the most disgusting thing to ever happen to the human race and it is positively mind boggling to me that women can actually bring themselves to commit such heinous acts, much less have them be LEGAL. With this being my first election and the first for a lot of young people like me, I for some reason feel the need to share my opinion on the subject (whether you agree with it or not) to maybe educate at least one person and sway their vote so we don't get a heartless person like Obama into the White House.

I've done a lot of research on the subject, for BOTH sides, and I've found (at least in my mind) that NONE of the pro-choice arguments justify taking a human life. Because that's what the whole issue is about, the right to choose. It is undeniable that abortion is a moral issue, thus all the conflict and political debates. Also because it is a moral issue, abortion has been confused as also being strictly a religious matter, when in fact it is a scientific one. Abortion is just as much, if not a more, a civil rights issue than a religious one.

People need to back up and look at the big question, should a woman have the right to choose whether or not to abort an unborn child. That is the question, not if women should have the right to choose what to do with her body. A woman can tattoo, pierce, dye, whatever the hell she wants to her body, but when it involves harming another person that "right" ends. A person has the right to swing their fist, but when their fist comes in contact with another person's face they have crossed the line and that right ended. The woman had the choice whether or not to have sex, knowing full well the consequences. That is when a woman chooses whether or not to have a baby, not when the baby is already made. Abortion is not birth control, it's murder.

It is a biological FACT that when the 23 chromosomes of the father meet the 23 chromosomes of the mother, the now 46 chromosomes have created a human being. This human being is alive, it is complete, it is sexed, can duplicate cells, and it is growing. Moreover, it is definitely not dead, and therefor very much alive. How can anyone deny that.

Because it is a FACT that there is a human being with a LIFE in the womb, 50% of the time being not even of the same sex as the mother, it is no longer the woman's right to decide what happens to it. It is a human being and therefor under the Declaration of Independence has the unalienable right to life. There is no choice to be made. Just because it is not fully grown or born does not make it any less of a human. Not since the days of Hitler's regime in Germany has there been any standard required to be met for a person to qualify for the right to live.

Some pro-choice followers believe that an unborn child is nothing but a "fetus" and therefor not considered a human being. Fetus is just a term to describe a stage of life, exactly the same as baby, toddler, child, teenager, young adult, adult, senior citizen and so on.

One of the main arguments for the pro-choice movement and Obama is that if abortion becomes illegal, many women will turn to unsafe practices to abort the child anyway. This is a load of bull shit to me. Why is it okay for a woman to come into an office and "safely" abort aka KILL her baby? Abortion is nothing short of murder and I agree that whether it is legal or not it's not going to stop people from doing it. Same goes for rape and drugs and murder of people outside the womb. The fact is that it's wrong and it should be illegal, and if a woman still decides to take a human life and put herself in danger to make her life more convenient then THAT is the choice she has to make.

Obama's stance on abortion is cowardly and I 100% agree with McCain, he is not ready to lead. He is running for the President of the United States and says things like this:

Q: What us your view on the decision on partial-birth abortion and your reaction to most of the public agreeing with the court's holding?

A: I think that most Americans recognize that this is a profoundly difficult issue for the women and families who make these decisions. They don't make them casually. And I trust women to make these decisions in conjunction with their doctors and their families and their clergy. And I think that's where most Americans are. Now, when you describe a specific procedure that accounts for less than 1% of the abortions that take place, then naturally, people get concerned, and I think legitimately so. But the broader issue here is: Do women have the right to make these profoundly difficult decisions? And I trust them to do it. There is a broader issue: Can we move past some of the debates around which we disagree and can we start talking about the things we do agree on? Reducing teen pregnancy; making it less likely for women to find themselves in these circumstances.

So basically this man that is hoping to become our future President is leaving it up to us and "trust[ing] women to make these decisions in conjunction with their doctors and their families and their clergy." What the hell, that's like saying "let's make rape legal and trust the citizens to make the right decision." How on EARTH can anyone wrap their head around actually going through most of the pregnancy and being INCHES away from giving birth, yes baby's arms and legs out of the womb MOVING and very much alive, but then taking a pair of scissors and stabbing them in the back of the baby's head just as it's about to be born. The Partial-Birth Abortion Ban is already in place and Obama intends to remove it. Think about what kind of person you want leading your country, is it really one that's okay with having babies that are INCHES from being born killed? Not for me, and it sure as hell shouldn't be for anyone else either. But who am I to say what kind of President we should have.

I don't however want to come across as bashing or criminalizing women who have had or are considering having an abortion. In addition to making abortion illegal, I think this country needs a lot more education programs for teens to prevent unwanted pregnancies as well as more readily available contraceptives, preferably the Pill or other such medications because we all know condoms have many more ways to fail if not used 100% correctly. Support programs for mothers experiencing an unwanted pregnancy would also be a great thing. Because when you think about it, no matter how inconvenient the pregnancy is to your social life/education/career/financial situation, how many women, after giving birth to their child, end up truly resenting him or her? A baby is a beautiful thing and nothing can compare to the bond between a mother and a child.

No matter what stage in life you're at, you can always make room for a baby. In my mind, once you become pregnant you have to because murder is not the solution to any problem.

i'm truly impressed with your argument, and with the courage it took to verbalize it.

thank you for your passionate thoughts.
